According to a 2019 Sophos Global survey, IT Managers are inundated with Cyberattacks from all directions and are often struggling to keep up. Titled ‘The Impossible Puzzle of Cybersecurity’ the report found that they are struggling to keep up due to the lack of security expertise, budget and up to date technology.
The findings showed that two out of three organisations fell victim to an attack in 2018; and that 91% of these organisations were running up to date protection at the time of the attack.
What does this mean for your small business?
It may be that you have an outsourced IT department or a small in-house team, but whether you have a dedicated IT team or not, it is important to make sure that these advisors have the correct guidance should they be faced with an attack.
86% of managers in the Sophos survey said that they require greater cyber security skills within their organisation and that on average they devote 26% of their time managing cyber security issues- could this be the same for your IT team?
It is incredibly important to remember that not all IT experts are security experts, so even though your company may have an expert IT technician on site, you may still need some guidance on security. That’s where we come in.
